» The Enterprise is en route to Starbase Montgomery. If you didn't catch the name first time round, Picard, Riker and Data say it ten times each in the following scene just to remind you.

» Picard: "I think we could all use a 12-hour layover." Who does he think he is, Sting?!

» Riker is picked to captain the Aries, on a mission to seek out intelligent life in a galaxy that's many months away at maximum warp. Get the feeling someone wants to get rid of him?

» Riker's estranged father arrives to brief him. He looks uncannily like Gene Roddenberry. Surely it can't be him, though - even the vainest executive producer wouldn't stoop so low as to cast themselves in a role? (coughcoughJMScoughcough).

» Worf nearly bites Wesley's head off. Literally.

» Kyle Riker and Dr Pulaski are old, er, 'friends'. This brings up mental images too hideous to contemplate.

» Pulaski has three ex-husbands. Guess nobody can stand her for more than a year then...

» Ten-Forward has a very cute barmaid this week. Just thought I'd mention it.

» Riker looks at old photos of his time in Alaska. Wonder if he lived in Cicely?

» Troi can tell Kyle is Riker's father, because she "felt certain things". Like father, like son eh?

» Commander Flaherty speaks 40 languages, including Klingon and Romulan. But not Welsh - after all, he's not a genius...

» Pulaski would have married Kyle if he'd asked her. All those fairy tales about wicked stepmothers would just have come alive for Will then, wouldn't they?

» Worf's closest friends attend his Rite of Ascension anniversary ceremony, and O'Brien and Pulaski go along for a laugh.

» Worf gets poked by painsticks, to commemorate the anniversary of his leaving boarding school.

» Riker and father put on ridiculous armour that makes them look like Power Rangers, then swing at each other with giant cotton buds.

» Riker's father talks about the rift between them, and the death of his mother, and they hug, and the audience falls asleep.

» Riker decides to stay on the Enterprise after all. What a surprise...
