[Captions] Announcement.
Posted by : Jawida
Date : Thursday, April 24 2003. 4:42
The Caption Competition will be closing (completely) in a couple of weeks, due to (1) Finals, (2) leaving uni in a couple of months and losing my web space, and (3) probably moving house a little bit after that, and changing ISP's if we move somewhere with broadband.
I'm hoping to start it up again late summer once everything has settled down, but if anyone wants to take it over they're more than welcome to - you get lots of funny emails.
You'd be welcome to have all my files, or just start it up yourself with a new design etc. It's also up to you whether you want to take over temporarily or permanently; I'm not too fussed either way.
Next week's competition will be the last , with a vote the subsequent week........

Site Launch
Posted by : Jawida
Date : Thursday, August 15 2002. 16:39
The site moved out of it's initial beta testing on the 13th August and the address posted to the group.
It's now the official website and the feedback has been pretty good, so on behalf of everyone involved thank you.
I'm moving closer to getting the site validated according to the rules of the W3C. Which should keep people like Jim and David happy ;)

The CGI calendar set up by Ameet is back (yay!) and for now if you want something added post to the group and Ameet will oblige, we'll look at making it a 'free for all' in the future.
Also added is the reviews section, with all of Richard Lyth's 'Random Thoughts' now being available as well as new 'general' information about shows. xSaBx's 24 reviews will be hosted in their full form at her website http://www.gubbins.net/24.
Also added is the credits page, you should go look, if only to see the names of the people who have invested significant time, money or both into providing this service for you all.
You might also have noticed that the file extensions have changed from htm to shtml, this is to save on uploading 150 files every time a new section is added.
Right, it's nearly 3am, four hours of editing done - time for bed :)

The new profiles section has been added. So far the only profile available is mine and no user update is available so it'll probably stay this way for a bit longer. Unless you wish to e-mail me your answers that is.
Hope you all like it.

First off Hello :). Hope you all had a nice weekend in the sun (assuming you got Sun) [Syn]I didn't[/Syn]. I had a great time in London and even have a tan (well I still look like death but it's a tan for me!).
As you will all be aware there was some 'unpleasantness' regarding the website at the beginning of the mouth. This has now largely been fixed and as a result Aaron [Syn]Hi[/Syn] has been added to the existing design team with Ameet and myself. Paul Harper will also be aiding us with off-site ASP support. [Syn]Bloody good stuff too[/Syn]
Part of this is that the website address will remain: http://www.umtss.org.uk and http://www.umtss.com will point to it.
http://www.umtss.org.uk will soon be pointing at: http://www.umtss.org.uk/umtssv2/
UMTSS v2 exists as the UMTSS web up until June. Another website (creatively titled UMTSSv3) is being designed at the moment and another post will be made when it is ready.
